Our Mission Statement
The mission of the Union Memorial African Methodist Episcopal Church is to minister to the spiritual, intellectual, physical and emotional, and environmental needs of all people by spreading Christ's liberating gospel through word and deed. At every level of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, the Union Memorial African Methodist Episcopal Church shall engage in carrying out the spirit of the original Free African Society, out ofwhich the African Methodist Episcopal Church evolved. This is to seek out and save the lost, serve the needy, and encourage "self help" through a continuing program of: Preaching the gospel Feeding the hungry Clothing the naked Housing the homeless Cheering the fallen Providing jobs for the jobless Administering to the needs of those in prisons, hospitals, nursing homes, asylums, mental institutions, and senior citizens homes Encouraging thrift and economic advancement It Is The Desire Of Union Memorial to present Jesus Christ and make disciples to develop Christian maturity to minister to the needs of the membership and community, near and far to preach and teach God's Word so as to build a relevant hermeneutical bridge between God's Word and daily life challenges to worship God in spirit and in truth to welcome and fellowship with all regardless of race or nationality to develop effective members in the church, and Christian leadership at home and abroad to evangelize and minister to all in need Our Goals Are Growing a totally saved, tithing, and serving congregation a Bible believing and living Christian fellowship a commitment to teaching Christian principles, morals and responsibility to God and one another "HOW COMMITTED ARE YOU?
